They Eat Hearts, Beavers, and Cocks in LA

Bonjour Nauts!

A free meal goes to the Gastronaut with the best beaver joke. Because, yup, this month we’re eating beaver, and we’ve pretty much heard it all already. And in case that’s not enough, we’re also chowing down on bear, cocks’ combs, sea cucumber and veal feet. This one is byob, so make sure you bring enough wine, beer and liquor to wash it down. Rumor has it that bourbon goes great with beaver.

Chef Laurent Quenioux, of Vertical Wine Bistro and the former Bistro LQ, is merging classical french techniques with eclectic ingredients and flavors from across the globe. Laurent’s pop-up dinners at Starry Kitchen are extremely limited, and, as always with Gastronauts, this is a special one-night-only menu. With any luck, Starry Kitchen owner Nguyen Tran will be dressed in his infamous banana suit, and ready to entertain us.
