Lechon at Engeline’s
January, 2010
Kamusta ‘Nauts,
We’re looking forward to seeing all of you tonight (and there are a LOT of you this time).
And a very happy new year to y’all. We hope you’re over the worst of your hangovers and haven’t made any stupid resolutions like eating healthy or not drinking since we’ve seen you last. Because damn, do we ever have a meal for you guys.
We’re doing a full-on Filipino New Year’s feast, complete with a whole roast léchon and all the trimmings. We’ll fill the back room of Engeline’s on Roosevelt Avenue, fire up the karaoke machine, put a little Weng Weng on the TV, and have them build a conveyor belt to keep the bottles of San Miguel coming fresh and frequently. The food here is amazingly good, but trust us, you’re gonna need some cold ones to wash down the pork knuckles dipped in pork blood gravy over liver sauce with fried eggs. So, come celebrate the new year with 50 of your closest friends and one crisp and juicy roast pig. RSVP now, bring a bottle of something bubbly, and look sharp. This is OUR new year, after all, and 2010 doesn’t start until we say so.
