Yes, that’s right. Live, drunken shrimp, brought to the table still jumping, and soaked in a bowl of rice wine until slightly more subdued. Of course, the LA ‘Nauts have loads of other Cantonese delicacies for you – duck tongues, goose web, sea cucumber, and multiple parts of pig, all washed down with cold Tsingtao beer.

Way out in the wilds of Brooklyn’s Chinatown there’s an exceptional restaurant out there, a palace of seafood and Cantonese cooking called Pacificana, and we’ve strong-armed them into going off the menu for us, and rounding up hundreds of the finest, freshest shrimp the Gowanus Canal can provide.
