For Beatrice’s homemade Sweetbread crostini and (the best god damn) trippa alla romana, the ‘Nauts head to the back room of Il Bagatto.

The Gastronauts head to Flushing for some Tianjin-style innards.
The Gastronauts invade Williamsburg’s St. Anselm for some Head Cheese, Humble Pie, Tripe, and other dishes.
The owner, Suchanek, proudly claims that his is the only Slovak and Czech restaurant in the city, and who are we to call out an armed Central European? He’ll prove it to us by cooking up a traditional game feast, featuring rabbits, wild boar, and all kinds of venison parts.
Can you believe that in all our dozens of dinners we’ve only had African food twice? It’s criminal. Speaking of which, have you ever been to lovely East New York? Well, that’s where we’re headed — specifically, to the amazing Festac Grill, which we’re taking over next Tuesday evening.
Enough of this fancy-shmancy table service and elegant garden dining crap–we’re heading back to Flushing. Haven’t you always wanted to eat “couch”? Or Jellyfish four different ways? Or “stew miscellaneous fish w home style cookies”? Of course you have.
The Gastronauts head to the food mecca of Bushwick, Roberta’s, for some phenomenal Pig Head and other dishes.
Seriously, you gotta hear this story: there’s a restaurant up in Jackson Heights called Tibetan Yak that we’ve been wanting to hit up for a while. But when we called them, they said, “Oh, sorry, we don’t have yak.” So we went, and got them some Yak meat and had ourselves a feast.
The Gastros head to Elmhurst’s La Fusta (The Whip) for some Argentine Asado!
This is gonna be full-on, real food from Senegal, not some watered-down hodge-podge: We eat a whole baby lamb, Senegalese style.
